Essential Points When You are Trying to Conceive

Undoubtedly, the most magical period of our life is when we are into the process of conceiving. If you are about to plan your first little one, you need to go through all the needed information about pregnancy related material. Gone are those days when the parents were not well acquainted with the pregnancy information and only relied upon the myths, but today’s parents are very eager to know and also have facilities such as web, books through which they can find answers to all their queries ranging from getting pregnant, hormonal changes, monthly menstrual cycle, health, fertility and so on.

If you and your partner have started planning for a baby, you need to stick on to follow certain essential things such as:

·         Have a proper planned diet- As it is a very well known fact that food is the body fuel and the cause for all our basic activities. Thus, keeping your body well nourished increases your chances of conceiving. The food you consume must include lots of protein, zinc, iron, Vitamin C. this is required because if your body lacks in these components, you will have lengthy monthly menstrual cycles, due to which ovulation will be less frequent. Eat good amount of proteins such as eggs, meat, low fat dairy products, fish, rice, beans, and pulses.

·         Say a big NO to Cigarettes and alcohol – Smoking has very harmful effects on ovaries and ovulation. Smoking can cause damage to your eggs and also hinder fertilization and implantation. It can cause aging effects on your ovaries too which consequently becomes the reason for less fertile ovaries. Similarly, alcohol intake may lead to miscarriage and also can interfere with implantation of egg. Cigarettes and alcohol need to be avoided by the male partner too. They can lower the sperm production and also hamper the motility.

·         Keep eyes on your Menstrual Cycle - On an average; the duration of cycle is about 25-35 days. If you wish to conceive, you need to find the fertile window period. It is this time when you must do regular intercourse. You can calculate your fertile days easily with the help of ovulation test kit.

·         Try to remain stress-free and calm – As per research and various studies held, it was found that couples, who are trying to conceive, when remained stress-free, were able to conceive early than the couples who had psychological stress.

·         Make Love – This is the best part of the whole process. You need to get out of the monotonous work schedule and need to have sex more often. It is a well researched fact that the female partner will have a more predictable menstrual cycle if the sexual intercourse is very often (at least once in a week). Adding to it, the male sex hormones also affect the female partner’s reproductive system. Undoubtedly, sporadic sex will lessen the chances of conceiving.
