Fifth Month of Pregnancy

The fifth month is considered as one of the most special moths since it brings along with it a lot of changes at the physical as well as emotional plane.

Physical changes in the fetus:

The development of fetus takes place rapidly. The internal organs of the baby start forming and taking shape. You will observer that the baby changes his side occasionally. The head-up position can switch to head-down position frequently.

The fingers and toes of the baby start developing. The unique finger prints of an individual are also formed in this month.  Baby teeth are also visible in this period.

This month is also marked by growth of eye-lashes and eye-brows. If you go for ultrasound check up, you can identify the gender of the baby.

The fetus starts looking and behaving like a human being. Consult your doctor or midwife before deciding to exercise.

The belly becomes itchy and more sensitive. You will also experience navel discomforts.  Make sure that your body does not cramp due to wrong positions of resting.  You may also observe pain in the tissues that support the uterus.  Doing some simple exercises regularly can provide relief from such problems.

Emotional changes:

  • The emotions of the mother are surfaced.
  • Irritation and annoyance in the mother.
  • A feeling of being overwhelmed creeps in.
  • Nervousness increases and the mothers become anxious.
  • In spite of all these negative feelings, the mother feels good since the symptoms of dizziness and sickness are not observed in this month.
  • The mother also becomes introspective and starts enjoying the baby kicks. You’ll start thinking about a lot of things that you need to implement after the arrival of the baby.
