One of the most important decisions a couple needs to take is that at what age of their lives they must think of getting a baby. This decision is not to be taken in a hurry as baby-making has various pros and cons at various ages.  The couple must know these and should take the decision likewise.

The ideal twenties:

The best time for pregnancy, is considered to be the twenties. At this age, the female body is primed for activities related to carrying a baby. Physically, at twenties, you are at the least risk of getting the pregnancy complications like chronic hypertension, gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. Also, till the age of 25, the risk of baby with down syndrome is 1 in 1250. The baby-raising task will also not be very difficult for you at this age as you are more energetic.

This was from the physical point of view, but when we consider it from mental and emotional point, this is the time when you are newly married and most of the women have started a new career. So this is the choice which the couple needs to make.

The mediocre thirties:

This is the age where majority of women get pregnant. Mostly, pregnancy at thirties is also uneventful. You have higher chances of a C-section. This is as per some doctors who have said that they are more inclined for a vaginal delivery when the patient is in twenties. Also the risk of preeclampsia and gestational diabetes are higher now. Adding to it, the possibility of having a baby with Down syndrome is also their.

The mindset of             a lady in running thirties is more psychologically set for becoming a mother. This is also a good time to have a baby as you have enjoyed your early days of marriage, have come close to each other and you are mentally, physically and economically much more stable to bring a new life into the world.

Mature Mother at Forties:

This is a very common scene these days. Women of this age group get pregnant and also deliver healthy babies. But, the chances of complications increase in this age group. There is a high risk of chromosomal abnormalities and baby with Down syndrome (chances 1 in 106). If you have multiples, then there is a risk of preterm delivery and low birth weight babies. C-Section and miscarriage is also common with women more than 40 years of age. But then too, if the mother is physically fit and eats well, her little ones would be healthy too.

Mentally the mature mom is confident and all-set to deal with the child. The maturity in the age will help the mother to tackle the demands of her younger one very well.
