I found a key.  If the food is white, it’s probably not very good for us.  Brown food seems significantly more healthy.  Statistics are that when we eat whole grains as opposed to white, rice, pasta we reduce the heart disease by 30%, which seems to be quite significant.  The nutrients that are in whole grain full are copper, magnesium, chromium folate, selenium, vitamin E and fiber.  Phytochemicals are also included but we are just now beginning to find that these phytochemicals are much more important than we had realized.

Well, the truth as we knew it is really the truth, 83% of all grains eaten are refined.  Does fast food ring a bell.  That daily fast food meal we eat can usher in all sorts of health issues.  Plus they make us fatter.  Low-fiber refined foods leave you constantly hungry.

There are delicious recipes for whole grain bread, muffin, casseroles, side dishes, soups and desserts.  It’s that easy.

Limit Your Use of Table and Cooking Fats

The fastest, most efficient way to eliminate some fats and calories is to reduce butter, margarine, cooking oil, mayonnaise and salad dressing from your cooking.  If you are eating a lot of these fats, you won’t have enough room to chow down on the healthy foods available.  Your foods will taste just as good without all that fat.  Fat does not mean flavor.  Besides there are fat-free or reduced fat products in this category that taste delicious.
